Privacy Policy
Last updated: 4 September 2026 · Entity: ResiQuote Pty Ltd (ABN 62 701 503 773) · Contact: hello@resiquote.com.au
This policy explains how we handle your personal information when you use www.resiquote.com.au and our services. We are bound by the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). Capitalised terms have the meaning given in our Terms of Service.
1. What we collect
1.1 Account details. Your name, email address and, optionally, your phone number when you sign up.
1.2 Plans and estimates. The floor plans and drawings you upload, and the estimates, cost ranges and renders we produce from them. Plans sometimes contain personal information in title blocks, such as a site address, lot number, or the name of an owner or designer. You may crop or redact this before uploading.
1.3 Project details. If you use the Referral Service, we collect what you tell us about your project so we can match you with relevant Partners: the state and locality of the build, the type of project (new build, knock-down rebuild, renovation or extension), your approximate budget and timing, whether you own land or have finance in place, your preferred builder type, and any notes you add.
1.4 Referral records. Which Partners you asked to be referred to, when, what was shared, and any quote, outcome or feedback that you or a Partner report back to us (for example that a contract was signed or a loan settled). Partners may tell us the outcome of a referral so that we can calculate any fee owed to us.
1.5 Payment records. Payments are processed by our payment provider. We receive confirmation of payment, the amount and a transaction reference. We never receive or store your card number.
1.6 Email sign-ups.If you use the “keep me posted” form, we collect your email address for that purpose. This is separate from your account.
1.7 Service logs. Requests, errors, device and browser information and timestamps needed to operate and secure the Service. We do not use third-party advertising trackers on the site.
2. How we use your information
We use your information to:
- (a) produce cost ranges, estimates and renders from your plans;
- (b) run your account, process payments and refunds, and provide support;
- (c) review and improve the accuracy of our estimation engine, which includes members of our team reviewing uploaded plans alongside the software’s results and, where a licensed builder assists us with accuracy review, that builder reviewing plans under a confidentiality agreement;
- (d) where you ask us to, refer you to Partners and share the information described in section 3;
- (e) calculate, invoice and reconcile any fee a Partner owes us in connection with your referral;
- (f) send you product updates if you have asked for them (every marketing email contains an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing does not affect your account);
- (g) comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our Terms.
We do not use your plans, estimates or project details for advertising, and we do not build marketing profiles of you.
3. Sharing with Partners (Referral Service)
3.1 Only when you ask. We share your information with a Partner only when you have chosen to be referred to that Partner. We tell you which Partner will receive your information before we share it. Declining a referral has no effect on your estimate or your account.
3.2 What a Partner receives. Depending on the type of Partner and what you choose to include, a Partner may receive your name and contact details, the state and locality of your project, your uploaded plan, your estimate or cost range, your project details under 1.3, and any message you write to them. Finance and insurance Partners receive your contact details and a short description of your project only, unless you choose to send more.
3.3 Partners are separate organisations. Once a Partner receives your information, it holds and uses that information under its own privacy policy and its own obligations under the Privacy Act, and it is responsible for how it handles your information from that point. Our Partner terms require each Partner to use your information only to respond to the referred project, to keep it secure, to stop contacting you when you ask, and not to sell it or pass it to anyone else. If you have a concern about how a Partner has handled your information, tell us and we will raise it with the Partner and, if appropriate, remove the Partner from our panel.
3.4 We receive fees. We may receive a fee, commission or other benefit from a Partner when we refer you, when you sign a contract with them, or when a loan or policy settles. Partners may tell us whether a contract, loan or policy resulted from a referral so we can reconcile these fees.
3.5 Withdrawing. You can withdraw from any referral, or ask a Partner to stop contacting you, at any time by telling the Partner or emailing us. We will pass on your request within a reasonable time. Withdrawing does not oblige a Partner to delete information it already holds, but you may make that request to the Partner directly under the Privacy Act.
4. Service providers (including overseas)
We use the following service providers to run the Service. Some are located in, or store data in, the United States. By using the Service you consent to your information being processed by these providers for the purposes described:
| Provider | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Supabase | Authentication and database |
| Anthropic | AI models used to analyse floor plans. Anthropic does not train its models on our API data |
| OpenAI | AI image models used to generate the optional 3D facade and kitchen renders from your plan. OpenAI does not train its models on our API data |
| Stripe | Payment processing |
| Klaviyo | Optional product-update emails |
| Resend | Transactional email (receipts, referral confirmations) |
| Railway | Application hosting |
Each provider is bound by data-processing terms that limit it to processing your information for the purposes we specify. We will update this table if providers change. Partners are not service providers; they are separate recipients described in section 3.
5. Direct marketing and contact
5.1 From us. We send product updates only if you have asked for them. You can unsubscribe at any time.
5.2 From Partners. A Partner you have been referred to may contact you by phone, email or SMS about the referred project. Our Partner terms prohibit a Partner from using your details for unrelated marketing or from contacting you after you have asked them to stop. We do not give Partners access to lists of users who have not asked for a referral.
5.3 We never sell your personal information.
6. Storage, security and retention
6.1 Data is encrypted in transit and at rest with our hosting providers. Access to production systems is restricted to the founders and to staff or contractors who need it, under confidentiality obligations.
6.2 Retention. Your account details, plans and estimates are kept while your account is active. Referral records, fee records and payment records are kept for seven years after the relevant referral, contract or payment, because we need them to reconcile fees with Partners and to meet tax and record-keeping obligations. Service logs are kept for a limited period for security purposes and then deleted or de-identified.
6.3 Deletion. You can delete individual plans and estimates, or your entire account, in the app (My Quotes). Deletion of your account removes your account details, plans, estimates and renders from our live systems immediately and permanently. We retain only the referral, fee and payment records described in 6.2, and we keep those separated from your deleted account so they cannot be used to contact you. Deletion requests by email are actioned within 30 days.
6.4 De-identified data. We may retain de-identified measurements and cost data derived from plans (for example room areas and quantities with all identifying information removed) to improve our estimation engine after you delete your account. This data cannot be linked back to you.
6.5 Data breaches. If a data breach is likely to cause you serious harm, we will notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as required by the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
7. Access and correction
You may ask to access or correct the personal information we hold about you by emailing hello@resiquote.com.au. We will respond within 30 days. For information held by a Partner, please contact the Partner; we will help you identify the right contact if you need it.
8. Complaints
If you have a privacy concern, contact us first at hello@resiquote.com.au and we will investigate and respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
9. Changes to this policy
We will update this policy as the Service changes and note the date of each version. Material changes, including any new category of Partner or new type of information shared with Partners, will be flagged on the site or by email before they take effect.
