A build cost estimate from your floor plan

Updated 22 October 2026 · ResiQuote

Upload your house plan as a PDF or image and ResiQuote returns a build cost range measured from the drawing in a few minutes, then an itemised estimate by category with a PDF report you can take to your builder.

What the estimate contains

Eleven categories, each with the quantities measured from your plan and an indicative cost at a Standard and a Premium specification: design, engineering and approvals; concrete slab and preparation; external and internal walls; roof and eaves; windows and external doors; plumbing and electrical; kitchen and joinery; bathrooms and tiling; doors, skirting and architraves; floor coverings; and various items.

What it excludes

The estimate prices the building drawn on the plan. Land, site-specific works that depend on a soil report or survey, and the selections you have not made yet are outside what a floor plan can show.

Taking it to your builder

The PDF report lists every category and quantity. It is an indicative estimate measured from the plan, not a quote, so use it to compare builders' itemised quotes against a common measured base, not as a price to hold anyone to.

Questions

Which plans work best?
Working drawings with printed room dimensions give the clearest detail. A builder's brochure plan or a plan with a total floor area printed on it also works; the printed figures are checked against the measurement.
Is my floor plan kept private?
Your plan is stored so your estimate can be shown again and used to review and improve the accuracy of the estimation engine. We do not sell or publish plans, and you can delete individual plans and estimates, or your whole account, in the app under My Quotes.
Can I upload more than one sheet?
Yes. Upload the floor plan sheets of one home together; the storeys are read as one plan.
