How ResiQuote turns a floor plan into a build estimate

Updated 22 October 2026 · ResiQuote

You upload a residential floor plan as a PDF or image. ResiQuote reads the drawing, measures the rooms, walls, roof and joinery, applies indicative Australian construction rates category by category, and shows a free cost range first.

1. Upload your floor plan

A PDF or an image. The rooms, dimensions and building elements on the drawing become the starting point.

2. ResiQuote reads the drawing

The software locates the plan on the sheet, finds the printed room labels and dimensions, measures room areas, external and internal wall lengths, the roof area and the joinery, and counts the windows and doors in the external walls. Where the plan prints a total floor area it is checked against the measurement.

3. Every category is priced

Measured quantities are priced at indicative Australian rates for eleven categories: design, engineering and approvals; concrete slab and preparation; external and internal walls; roof and eaves; windows and external doors; plumbing and electrical; kitchen and joinery; bathrooms and tiling; doors, skirting and architraves; floor coverings; and various items. Two builder tiers are shown, Standard and Premium.

4. Your free cost range, then the full estimate

The free cost range appears in a few minutes. The full itemised estimate ($299, one-off) opens every category with its quantities and a PDF report, and an optional photorealistic facade impression can be added.

What it is not

An indicative estimate produced automatically from the plan. It is not a builder's quote, a tender, a valuation or professional advice. Actual contract prices depend on the site, specifications and final scope, so obtain itemised quotes from licensed builders before making financial decisions.

Questions

What file types can I upload?
A PDF or an image of the floor plan. Working drawings give the clearest detail, but you can start with the plan you have.
What does the estimate include?
An itemised view of your build, from slab, walls and roof through to internal finishes. Quantities are measured from your plan and priced at indicative rates.
What does Standard versus Premium mean?
Standard is priced for a volume builder's specification and Premium for a custom builder's. The same measured quantities are priced at each tier so you can see where the difference comes from.
